This isn't a class about collage technique.

Over 90 minutes of selecting, cutting, and placing images,

something quietly reveals itself —

what you reach for, what you avoid, what you put at the center.

Each session begins with one question. You sit with it, then respond through images.

The collage becomes the story. At the end, everyone shares what they made and

what it meant — part collage workshop, part storytelling circle.

A space where the things you haven't been able to say out loud find a way onto paper.

After the session, every participant's finished piece is compiled into a digital zine

with the artist's written comments and sent to you.

Your work ends up in a magazine.

이 워크샵은 콜라주 기법을 배우는 수업이 아닙니다.

90분 동안 하나의 주제를 가지고 자신의 이야기를 콜라주로 표현하는 방법을 배우는 시간이에요.

매주 하나의 주제를 가지고 그에 대한 나의 이야기, 나의 생각, 나의 상상력을

콜라주로 함께 표현하며, 오직 나만의 세상을 종이로 직접 만드는 즐거움을 느껴볼 수 있을 거예요.

수업이 끝나면 참가자 전원의 작품이 디지털 매거진으로 엮여 발행됩니다.

완성된 작품은 물론, 그 시간 자체를 기억할 수 있는 매거진을 간직해주세요.

why analog collage?

아날로그 콜라주가 특별한 이유

The photos sitting in your camera roll finally become something

Everyone has them — photos taken and never looked at again. The moment you pull them back out, look at them closely, cut them up, and place them into a new context, a memory you'd barely noticed starts to carry a different kind of weight.

갤러리에 잠들어 있던 사진들이 작품이 돼요. 찍고 나서 한 번도 다시 열어보지 않은 사진들, 누구나 있잖아요. 그 사진들을 다시 꺼내 세세하게 들여다보고, 자르고, 새로운 맥락 안에 놓는 순간 — 그냥 지나쳤던 기억이 전혀 다른 무게를 갖게 돼요.

The time without a device — no screen, no headache

No screen, no notifications. Cutting paper by hand demands more focus than you'd expect — there's simply no space for other thoughts to creep in. Your hands are moving, not your mind. For the duration of the session, the things that have been weighing on you have a way of quietly disappearing.

전자기기가 필요 없는 시간이에요. 화면 없이, 알림 없이. 가위로 종이를 자르는 행위는 생각보다 훨씬 많은 집중력을 요해요. 다른 고민이 끼어들 틈이 없죠. 머리가 아닌 손이 움직이는 시간 — 작업을 할 때 만큼은 평소에 나를 짓누르던 고민들이 생각나지 않을 거예요.

You don't need talent You don't need training

Collage is made from photographs, not drawings. No steady hand required, no art background needed. What matters is which images you choose — your eye, your story, your instincts. That's the whole craft. And it turns out, that's something everyone already has.

그림을 못 그려도, 감각이 없어도 상관 없어요. 콜라주는 사진으로 만드는 작업이에요. 손재주가 없어도, 미술을 배운 적이 없어도 충분히 멋진 작업이 나와요. 내가 어떤 이미지를 고르는지가 전부거든요. 선택하는 눈이, 나의 이야기가 곧 실력이에요.

what to prepare

준비물

To participate, you'll need access to a printer

— a home printer, a print shop nearby, or an office printer all work fine.

Detailed material instructions will be sent after registration.

수업을 진행하기 위해서는 직접 뽑은 인쇄물이 필요합니다.

자주 묻는 질문

I'm not crafty and I have no sense for art — is that okay?

손재주도 미술적 감각도 없는데 괜찮을까요?

Completely fine. This isn't a class about making something skillfully — it's about bringing your own story out through images

전혀 문제없어요. 이 수업은 작품을 잘 만드는 법을 가르치는 게 아니라, 내 이야기를 이미지로 꺼내는 시간이에요. 손재주나 미술 감각보다 훨씬 중요한 건 내가 무슨 이야기를 하고 싶은가랍니다.

What happens if I don't finish in time?

수업 시간에 완성을 못 하면 어떻게 되나요?

That's okay. The process matters more than the finished product here. Unfinished work is welcome in the gallery walk just the same. The zine is put together within 3-5 days after the session — if you finish your piece before then and send it in, I'll include the completed version instead.

괜찮아요. 완성도보다 과정이 더 중요한 수업이거든요. ZINE은 수업 후 3-5일 이내에 제작되는데, 그 전에 완성작을 따로 보내주시면 완성본으로 넣어 드릴게요.

Do I have to use photo paper? Can I use regular printer paper?

인화지가 꼭 필요한가요? 일반 복사지로는 안 되나요?

Regular paper works fine. But photo paper makes a noticeable difference in color and texture. If you can, it's worth trying at least once.

일반 복사지로도 참여할 수 있어요. 다만 인화지로 출력하면 색감과 질감이 확연히 달라져서 자르고 붙이는 작업 자체가 훨씬 즐거워져요. 가능하다면 한 번은 꼭 써보길 추천해요.

Do I have to have my camera on during the session?

수업 중에 카메라를 켜야 하나요?

We encourage you to keep your camera on, but it's not required. That said, during the gallery walk, please use your camera or phone to show your finished piece. You don't need to show your face — just your work.

카메라를 켜는 것을 권장하지만, 꼭 켜지 않아도 괜찮아요. 다만 갤러리 워크에서 완성작을 보여줄 때는 카메라나 스마트폰으로 작품을 비춰주세요.
